The purpose of this class is to teach kids ages 9 - 16 to quilt. While basic sewing skills will be discussed, students will need to know how to thread and operate their sewing machine. All fabrics will be precut, so rotary cutters will not be used in class. While learning the basics of quilting students will create some easy projects including a crazy quilt pillow, fusible applique' wall hanging and a split rail lap quilt. Participants will have the opportunity to include their choice of fabrics in projects, or use fabrics provided. Mrs Heller is an experienced elementary teacher who is excited to pass her thimble on to the next generation of quilters!

Do you have one of those Embroidery machines that you tried once and have not used again? Well let's get that unit out of the closet and see what we can do. You will need to know a little about how your unit works. I am most familiar with the Pfaff machines, but I am willing to try. I have been working on the Vintage Tea Pots. Come and lets see what we can create together.

This quilt uses a "Soft Edge Applique'" technique which gives the finished quilt a soft look. As the quilt is used or washed the stars will fray just a little. Strips are sewn together and then cut into squares. We like quilts that go together fast and easy. People will think you spent month on this quilt. But it will be our little secret. MUMS the word.

Quick and easy, small quilt projects designed around the seasons and holidays. Projects may include table runners, placemats, table mats or small seasonal wall hangings. Projects will include quilt as you go, strip piecing and applique'. Where applique' is used, fusible applique' will be demonstrated. Meets once a month on the third Friday of the month from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, or the fourth Monday of the month from 10:30am - 12:30pm. The charge is $10.00 per month, fabric and patterns not included.

Ongoing Classes

Start a new project or bring an unfinished project to complete in class. You will need to bring your pattern, fabric and notions. Two sessions for $25.00

You will need a "learn-to-sew" type pattern such as pajama bottoms, pillow case, or tote bag. Cotton fabric in sufficient quantity to complete your project (NO knits, fleece or slinky/shiny fabrics). Be sure to pre-wash your fabric before class. Two Sessions for $25.00
